Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Egypt (T. Marshall, 20th Foot) small edge bruise, otherwise very fine £1,200-£1,400

Thomas Marshall was born in 1779 at Kilmacsimon, County Cork. He served for two years in the Leitrim Militia and enlisted into the 20th Foot in 1800. He contracted blindness while on active service in Egypt and was discharged ‘Blind’ from the Army Depot, Isle of Wight, on 27 May 1802, and was admitted to an Out-Pension at Kilmainham Hospital on 7 June 1802. He died at Clonakilty, Cork, on 22 May 1865.
