Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Alma (Private John Ogden, 33rd Foot) contemporary engraved naming, edge bruise and contact marks, nearly very fine £140-160

Private John Ogden was wounded at the battle of the Alma (London Gazette 17 October 1854). Sold with copy discharge papers which show that he was born in Wakefield, Yorkshire, and enlisted there on 7 January 1846. He was discharged on 6 July 1855, as a result of his wounds, being ‘disabled in the right hand from a gunshot wound in the forearm, causing contraction of the ring and little finger - wounded at Alma.’
