An Islamic talisman holder, the octagonal centrepiece with hinged lid, between two two cylindrical hollow links, all in white precious metal with repousse decoration, together with a further Islamic octagonal case, with three suspensory loops, the lid inset with a turquoise stone, first total length 12cm. £120-150

These were intended to store select verses of the Koran Revelation considered to hold special protective powers. The cylindrical links would also have held further paper scrolls.
