A Phoenix gold panel brooch, by Paul Preston, the shaped rectangular panel depicting a phoenix rising from flames below, decorated in vari coloured precious metals, the detail applied and layered, above a chequered ground, the panel within a raised border with ruby highlight to the top, and pendant hoop to the base, the reverse engraved with an image of a phoenix, and inscribed below: ‘22 March 1975’ and ‘22 March 2005, Suzie, All my love David’, stamped with maker’s mark ‘PP’, and with the maker’s signature spaceship motif, dimensions 40mm x 33mm. £800-£1,000
