Victor Rhodes was a native of High Crompton, Oldham. He served during the Great War with the Lincolnshire Regiment in the Gallipoli theatre of war from 1 July 1915. Rhodes advanced to Lance-Corporal and subsequently transferred to the Labour Corps.
