44 names given on the roll of the Clanwilliam Volunteer Corps but only 13 medals issued, the remainder being returned to the Mint.
This was the most Westerly unit raised during the Ninth Frontier War. The town of Clanwilliam is situated to the North of Cape Town and inland from Lamberts Bay. The unit was comprised solely of Cape Coloured men.
