Francis John Chancellor Rybot was born in Warwickshire in July 1899, and was a Cadet at R.M.A. Woolwich. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Garrison Artillery in January 1919, and advanced to Lieutenant in January 1921. Rybot was employed by the Air Ministry and attached to the Royal Air Force as a Flying Officer, 9 January 1922 - 8 January 1926. Returning to the Army, he was employed as a Station Staff Officer 1st Class in India, August 1930 - November 1931.
Rybot advanced to Captain in January 1932, and to Major in August 1938. He advanced to Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel in December 1941, and Acting Brigadier in April 1946. Rybot died in Dorset in 1979.
