Stanley Charles Herrington, a native of Newbury, Berkshire, attested for the Hampshire Regiment at Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, and served with the 15th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He died of wounds on 21 September 1917, aged 19, and is buried in Godewarsvelde British Cemetery.
