C.); India General Service 1854-94, 1 clasp, Lushai 1889-92 (3673 Pte. T. Rockell. 4th Bn. K. Ryl. Rifles) officially re-engraved naming; Khedive’s Star 1882, unnamed, the first lacking one side of suspension claw and with solder repair, contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine or better (4) £1,000-£1,200
Sold with copied medal roll which confirms just two recipients of the ‘Lushai 1889-92’ clasp to the 4th K.R.R.C. - 3673 (late 2256 3/K.R.R.C.) Private Thomas Rockell, and 4087 Private Malcolm McFiggins, both of whom served in the ‘operation undertaken to quell a general rising of the Eastern Lushai clans. Advance of a force under Captain J. Shakespear, Leinster Regiment, 16th March to 18th May 1892. Served with the detachment commanded by Captain Stevens 4th Madras Pioneers co-operating with column.’
