The Gordon Highlanders Officer’s Full Dress Dirk in silver coloured metal, the 29 cm bright blade with single fuller and saw back edge is fully etched on both sides with battle honours to Afghanistan 1878-80, Egypt 1882, the Sphinx and Tel-El-Kebir, a crowned tiger, unit title, Sphinx/Egypt and the VR cypher, retailed by Joseph Starkey, Conduit St., London, bog oak handle with silver pins (one lacking), ornate bulbous finial with facetted stone, the black leather scabbard with four chapes, the top one bearing regimental insignia, the remainder with thistle sprays, the knife and fork with bog oak handles and similar finials, the top chape partially loose otherwise good overall condition £1,600-£2,000
