Second Lieutenant George Peter Dudley Wallis, Scots Guards, an extraordinary personal archive of this Great War officer, equipment elements are his binocular case (empty), map case complete with Flanders maps, pistol holster, Field Message Book No. 153, a large folder tracks his military career, attempting to enlist on several occasions from 1914 but turned down on medical grounds. He finally receives a commission in the 1st Bn. Scots Guards, his commission dated 28th November 1917. He is severely wounded 8th June 1918 and admitted to ‘No.2 Red. X. Hospital Rouen’ on the 9th (two telegrams). His issue ‘dog-tag’ and a personal silver one are present, many military instructions and orders Post War material includes attendance at the Guards Memorial Service 1926. Many photographs including a fine studio portrait of Dudley Wallis. Together with a broken despatch box, stamped with the crowned ‘VR’ cypher and ‘George Wallis’. an extraordinary surviving archive, generally good condition (parcel) £300-£500
