William John Kingman was born in Puddlestown, Dorset, and attested for the Dorset Regiment at Dorchester. He served with the 2nd/4th Battalion during the Great War in Egypt, and was killed in action on 9 April 1918. He is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.
