William Schooling, a native of Chingford, Essex, attested for the 1st Essex Yeomanry, and served with them during the Great War before transferring to the Machine Gun Corps (Cavalry). He was killed in action on the Western Front on 22 March 1918, and having no known grave is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France.
George Stephen Wadkinson, a native of Ripley, Derbyshire, attested for the Lincolnshire Regiment, and served with them during the Great War before transferring to the Machine Gun Corps. He died in captivity on 28 September 1918, having been taken Prisoner of War when the 50th Division were overrun on 27 May 1918 at Chemin des Dames. He is buried in Hochhiemhim Cemetery, Worms, Germany.
