Donald James Miller was born in Vancouver, British Colombia, on 15 February 1911, and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on 30 September 1929. Having been advanced through the ranks to Acting Warrant Officer Class I on 1 April 1942, he was commissioned Flying Officer on 19 December 1942, and was promoted Flight Lieutenant on 1 August 1944. He was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 27 August 1948, and was discharged on 18 October 1960. He died in London, Ontario, on 3 November 1993.
