George Pires, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Lond) 1889, D.P.H., R.C.P.S. (Eng) 1891, served as an Assistant Apothecary in the Indian Medical Department during the Burma Wars. He qualified as a doctor soon after practising in Karachi and he died in Bangalore aged 70.
