Charles Edward Wilde was born at 7 Hope Terrace, Tranmere, Birkenhead in January 1891. He served during the Great War with the 9th Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment in Mesopotamia, and was subsequently attached to the R.A.S.C. at Baqubah, Iraq. He was discharged in June 1920, and resided in Leamington Spa.
Wilde died at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Rhyl, Flintshire in July 1966.
Approximately 7 General Service Medals with ‘Iraq’ clasps awarded to the Regiment - 5 to officers, and 2 to senior non-commissioned officers.
