William Charles Stewart Hinds was born in West Gorton, Manchester in 1903 and attested for the Royal Air Force in 1921.
He was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in October 1940 and was promoted substantive Warrant Officer on 1 April 1943. He was awarded a Second Award Bar to his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 31 August 1957.
