Michael Jackson was born in 1938 and joined the Royal Air Force as a Boy Entrant on 17 February 1954. He advanced to Aircraftman 1st Class while still less than 18 years of age and was discharged on 1 August 1968 while holding the rank of Senior Aircraftman.
