Three: Private E. W. Hale, 13th (Kensington) Battalion, London Regiment, who was killed in action on the Western Front on 9 May 1915

1914-15 Star (2892 Pte. E. W. Hale. 13-Lond. R.); British War and Victory Medals (2892 Pte. E. W. Hale. 13-Lond. R.), with remains of named cards boxes of issue, in O.H.M.S. envelope addressed to ‘Mrs. M. Hale, 14 Ashley Cottages, Warwick Rd., Kensington, W.’; Memorial Scroll (Pte. Edwin Wm. Hale, 13 London) the Scroll torn in parts, the medals nearly extremely fine (4) £100-£140

Edwin William Hale attested for the London Regiment and served with the 13th (Kensington) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 11 February 1915. He was killed in action on 9 May 1915, aged 18. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium.

Sold with original transmittal letter, and an old photograph of the recipient.
