Three: Private W. Elliott, Hampshire Regiment, who was taken prisoner of War at Kut-al-Amara, and died in captivity in Mesopotamia on 18 October 1916

William Elliott was born in Milton, Hampshire, and attested for the Hampshire Regiment at Portsmouth. He served with the 1st/4th Battalion (Territorial Force) during the Great War in the Asiatic theatre of War from 26 August 1915, and was taken prisoner of War at Kut-al-Amara in 1916. He died in captivity on 18 October 1916, and is buried in Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery, Iraq.
