South Africa 1834-53 (Thos. Gibbs. 74th Regt) edge bruising, nearly very fine £300-£360

Thomas Gibbs was born in Bristol, Somerset and attested for the 74th Foot at the city of his birth in February 1845. He served with the Regiment in South Africa during the Third Kaffir War, 1850-53. Gibbs died at Jackatalla Barracks, Ootacamund, India, 24 June 1855.
