William Frederick Paskell was born in Camberwell, London, and attested for the Middlesex Regiment in London. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 11 August 1914, was advanced Sergeant, and was awarded the Military Medal. He was killed in action during the attack on the Hindebburg Line during the 2nd Battle of the Scarpe on 23 April 1917, and is buried in Heninel-Croisilles Road Cemetery, France.
