M.S.M. London Gazette 18 January 1919:
‘In recognition of valuable service rendered with the Armies in France and Flanders.’
J. T. Evans was a native of Toronto, Ontario, and attested for the Canadian Army Medical Corps in January 1916. He served with the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force during the Great War at the 5th Canadian Stationary Hospital, Egypt, and at 7 Canadian General Hospital, Etaples, France. He reportedly had only one day off-duty during his three years’ overseas service, and witnessed the great air raids on the hospitals at Etaples. He returned to Canada on 12 July 1919.
Sold with the recipient’s C.A.M.C. cap badges; and copied research including a photographic image of the recipient.
