Robert Ernest Norman Libby was born in Plymouth on 31 December 1915. Believed to have joined the Royal Air Force around 1938, he was listed on a ship to Gibraltar in 1938, address given as 93 Admiral Street, Devonport. He was commissioned Flying Officer from Flight Sergeant on 3 May 1956, and was later promoted Flight Lieutenant on 8 June 1960, and Squadron Leader in the Medical Technician Branch of the R.A.F. on 8 July 1966. He retired on 11 July 1970, and died in Plymouth in July 1990.
