Provenance: SNC September 1958 (6128); SNC July-August 1959 (14944); H.R. Mossop Collection; bt Seaby March 1966.
The accompanying Seaby ticket (in the hand of Frank Purvey) incorrectly associates the provenance of this coin with a die-duplicate (originally P.W.P. Carlyon-Britton 466 and Bruun 121, among others), acquired by Sir Francis Hill in 1950 and now in the City and County Museum, Lincoln. A further die-duplicate, not to be confused with the present piece, was in SCMB August 1966 (H 3511 [= Jonsson p.55, coin e)]
