French 1st Empire Shako/Helmet Plate, an extremely large fine and rare officer’s heavily die-stamped gilt brass plate, the full mantle of arms include the Imperial crown, a shield bearing the Imperial Eagle the shield edged with the collar and suspended crowned star of the Legion D’Honneur, the shield lies upon crossed sceptres the upper finials bearing Holy symbols, the whole rests upon a mantle of ermine, the folded reverses display the Imperial Bees and leaf decoration, six fastening loops to the reverse (approx 16.5cm x 12.1cm), slight surface grime but the gilt excellent overall (1) £300-400
