Memorial Plaque (F. H. Hoskyn) contained in a contemporary circular oak frame, extremely fine £60-£80
Frank Hebden Hoskyn, Second Lieutenant, 2nd Battallion, King Edward’s Own Grenadiers, died in India on 19 November 1919, aged 19, and is buried in Tank Cemetery. He was formerly 1st Battalion, 109th Indian Infantry, and was mentioned in despatches for a forced march of 22 miles in the heat of day, May 1919, bringing his detachment and 1,000 transport animals to Thal the day before it was besieged. “Though not fit at the time he set his men a fine example of grit and devotion to duty.”
