John Henry Voake was born in 1890 and lived in Street, Somerset. A farmer by trade, he served with the West Somerset Yeomanry from 1910, and served as a Sergeant in the Gallipoli theatre of War from 8 October 1915. He was discharged time-served on 8 April 1916, and died in 1955.

Frederick James Spiller served with the North Somerset Yeomanry during the Great War on the Western Front from 2 November 1914 (also entitled to a 1914 Star).
