William Clayton was born in Luton, Bedfordshire and served with the 4th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment during the Great War. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 13 October 1915, during the second action at the Hohenzollen Redoubt during the battle of Loos. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, France.

Harold Trout was born in Lincoln and served with the 2nd Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment during the Great War. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 21 March 1918; he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France.
