M.S.M. London Gazette 1 January 1918:
‘In recognition of valuable services rendered with the Armies in the Field during the present War.’
H. Yarnell was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for ‘Service and Devotion’ whilst attached to the 46th Divisional Train, Army Service Corps, and was additionally awarded the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal on 1 August 1919.
Note: The Medal roll gives his correct clasps entitlement as Cape Colony, Orange Free State, and Transvaal; not those clasps mounted on his medal.
