Harold I (1035-1040), Penny, Deorsige, deorsige on her·t:, obv. with left-facing bust and ornamental diadem, reads harold, barred a, 1.15g/9h (Talvio L1, National A; SCBI Copenhagen 160, same dies; BEH –; N 802; S 1163). Old scratch on reverse, otherwise very fine and of the highest rarity; believed the only specimen of this type and moneyer available to commerce (£900-1,200)

The cataloguer has only traced one other specimen, the bent example from the 1943 Haagerup Find, now in Copenhagen; there were no pennies of this type and mint in either the Montagu, Lockett, Longman or Elmore Jones collections
