Private R. Bennett, 16th Lancers, entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 17 August 1914.

Edward Henry Cann was born in Bloomsbury, London and enlisted in London. Serving with the 17th Lancers he entered the France / Flanders theatre of war on 8 November 1914. On 24 September 1917 he was transferred to the 16th Battalion Warwickshire Regiment as a Private, 32526. With them he died of wounds on 9 October 1917. He was buried in the Menin Road South Military Cemetery.
