John Loftus Otway Mansergh was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion Irish Regiment in 1898. With the 1st Battalion in December 1899, he was promoted Lieutenant in September 1900. After service seconded to the King’s African Rifles in 1902, he resigned his commission in 1905. With the outbreak of the Great War, he was recommissioned a Lieutenant with the Warwickshire Regiment on 28 June 1915. Lieutenant Mansergh was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 25 September 1915, aged 37 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial. Sold with copied research.
