A 17th century memento mori miniature portrait of Charles II, circa 1685, mounted within a later gilt metal oval slide, the monarch depicted in full bottomed wig, with white lace lawn collar and red cape, the portrait with a skull depicted to the back right of the image, and set beneath facetted glass, within a ropetwist framed clasp, and later sewn to a woven cream band, length 21mm x 17mm. £300-£500
