Duke of Wellington interest: A Victorian silver cast figural salt spoon by makers John and Henry Lias, London, 1846, the finial modelled as the bust of Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, (1769-1852), together with a mid 19th century gilt metal and blue enamel casket, the hinged lid glazed and containing an arrangement of curled hair and with a gilt inscription beside, reading ‘Copenhagen, June 18, 1815’, length 9.3cm, casket length 14cm.

Provenance: The casket was included in the Bonhams sale The Contents of the Old Rectory, Banningham, Norfolk, on 23rd March 2004, part of lot 1183.
