A late 19th century Russian silver and enamelled vesta case, circa 1890, with vari-coloured enamelled decoration to both sides, the base with hinged cover incorporating strike, (lacking rope taper), stamped with Cyrillic maker’s mark for Fyed Ruch, city mark for Moscow, fineness 88 zoloniks, length 5.5cm. £550-£650
The use of the ‘dvoinik’, the combined city and standard mark, was used between 1882-1899.
