A late Roman/Byzantine intaglio set ring, the flat oval garnet intaglio carved with a standing figure possibly Ceres, with one arm raised, in closed back collet setting to fine openwork shank with applied bead details, with later repair/solder to the bezel, garnet measures 8 x 6mm, ring size approximately G. £600-£800
