China 1900, 1 clasp, Relief of Pekin (C. G. Deasley, Lg. Sean., H.M.S. Barfleur.), nearly very fine £240-£280

Charles Garwood Deasley was born in Croydon on 7 April 1878, entering naval service as a Boy 2nd Class in H.M.S. Boscawen on 26 May 1893. Joining H.M.S. Barfleur on 1 October 1898 as an Able Seaman, he was promoted Leading Seaman on 17 May 1900 and served in her until 21 June 1901. Discharged to shore on 27 November 1902, he was re-engaged for service in the Great War, largely serving in H.M.S. Perth as a Petty Officer, until he was demobilised on 8 February 1919.
