The posture of Sol on the reverse of this denarius differs from that normally seen. Normally, the figure Sol, holding a globe (RIC 102), is seen with a right leaning contrapposto, with the god resting his weight on his left leg, while the figure of Sol holding a whip (RIC 101) is seen in a left leaning contrapposto, with the weight placed on the right leg. This coin mixes elements of both designs
