Kings of Mercia, Ceolwulf I (821-3), Penny, Rochester, Æthelmod, Portrait type, m+ ciolvvlf rex (commencing at 5 o’clock), portrait right within inner circle, rev. edelmod moneta, cross moline, 1.22g/1h (Naismith –; N –; S 925). Flan creased and edge ragged between 9 and 11 o’clock, otherwise very fine; reverse type unlisted in the standard references under this king at Rochester and seemingly UNIQUE £2,600-£3,000
