Alexander Kittles (also recorded as Kettles) was born in Perth and attested for the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders in Glasgow. He served with the 5th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 10 May 1915, and was mortally wounded near Nieuport on 30 October 1917. He died of his wounds on 5 November 1917, and is buried in Zuydcoote Military Cemetery, France.
