A good quality example dated inside 1911. Standard 1856 pattern black patent leather skull with similar top, ribbed cloth side panels with yellow orris cord trim, waist band of yellow and red linen, yellow and red woollen rosette plume holder with correct period central button. Gilding metal frontal plate with honours to South Africa 1902, lions head side ornaments, brass chin chain (shortened), the linen waistband with a few moth nips otherwise good condition £500-£700
