Kirkcaldy Burgh Police First Pattern Helmet Plate.
A very fine and most rare example in die-stamped blackened white metal, an oval strap, ‘Vigilando Munio’ encloses the triple towered abbey from the town Arms. Above, an elaborate tri-part scroll with thistle head terminals, ‘Kirkcaldy Burgh Police’, three lug fasteners (JCGp131), good condition £400-£500
