A pair of diamond bombé earclips, circa late 1960s/70s, the tiered design claw set throughout with brilliant-cut diamonds, in individual ropetwist settings, mounted to hinged clip fittings, both stamped with Iranian crown guarantee mark for 18ct white gold, total diamond weight approximately 2.2 carats, diameter 23mm. £1,000-£1,500
The crown hallmark depicts the Pahlavi Crown of Iran, being the Coronation Crown, part of the Iranian crown jewels. The hallmark was used in Iran from 1967 to the late 1970s for 18ct and 22ct gold. See Hallmark Research Institute World Hallmarks, Vol II, pages 129-134.
