A Greek/Hellenistic 3rd-2nd century BC gold seal ring, of stirrup shape with circular sectioned plain hoop, the pointed oval bezel decorated with a circular vessel or altar mounted on two feet, with curved projections or handles below to each side, the top modelled as a line of pellets and sprigs of three leaves adorning the two corners of the bezel, edged with a pellet border, internal diameter 20mm, weight 5.78gm. £500-£600
The iconography is unusual and may be associated with Aphrodite. The vessel represented could be a libation cup from a marriage ceremony.½,
