Charles I (1625-1649), Bristol mint, Shilling, 1644, mm. cross of five pellets on obv. only, armoured bust left, plume before face, rev. Declaration in three lines, three plumes above, br between date below, 6.19g/2h (Morr. C-3; cf. SCBI Brooker 997-8; N 2500; S 3016). A little double-struck on reverse, otherwise better than very fine, very rare £800-£1,000
