Kings of Mercia, Offa (759-96), Penny, Heavy coinage, Three Line type, Canterbury, Eoba, +offa rex m in three lines divided by pelleted borders, rev. eoba, trefoil ornament flanked by crosses above and below, 1.33g/9h (Chick 223a-b, SCBI BM 95 and Lockett 2647, same dies; N 320; S 908). Flan slightly bent and with a small edge split at 6 o’clock, the metal otherwise sound with minimal porosity, very fine, rare £900-£1,100
