The roll confirms C. Lindburgh as Chief Officer of the S.S. Chingtu belonging to the China Navigation Company.
The S.S. Chingtu was Transport 105 for the voyage carrying the Australian contingents of the New South Wales Naval Brigade returning from China to Australia in April 1901. Upon arrival at Sydney the ship was placed in quarantine from 26 April to 15 May because of an outbreak of smallpox on board.
