Sold with six cloth badges and photocopies of the recipient’s Certificate of Service and Certificate of Qualifications.
Nigel John Whiteley was born in Romford, Essex on 2 November 1945, and volunteered for service in the Royal Navy in 1961. He volunteered for service in submarines and served in this branch between 1965 and 1967. He then transferred into the medical branch, qualifying as a S.E.N. in 1971 and attaining the rank of Petty Officer Medical Assistant in 1975. He served aboard the Heron with 846 Squadron as a helicopter medic during 1983-85, during which time he gained the G.S.M. with clasp, Lebanon. He left the service with a pension in 1986.
