George Watson served at the capture of Pegu as a Private Royal Marines aboard H.M.S. Bittern (medal delivered on board H.M.S. Winchester, 3 May 1857). He is also entitled to the Crimea Medal with Sebastopol clasp for service in the same rank aboard H.M.S. Triton (delivered on board Triton), and to the China Medal without clasp for service aboard aboard H.M.S. Bittern, tender to H.M.S. Winchester (medal sent 8 April 1864).
